Watched BodyGaurd,Interesting story narrated in a dull and slow paced format. The story deals with venkatadri(Venky) falling in love with an unknowln girl(Trisha) through telephone conversations which leads to more complex problems. The movie starts with showcasing the reasons of Venky becoming a Bodygaurd and it looks cliched till it picks up some pace when Heroine starts making prank calls, first half has some good comedy by venu madhav with a nice interval block.Though the second half has some good episodes,it is just Okay with too many songs, unconvincing fights but ends on a great note with an good climax.I loved thaman's BGM in the movie and I believe Venky is few such actors in TFI who can transform 9 emotions(Navarasa) easily on the big screen. Its can be skipped unless you haven't watched the other two versions in Hindi and Tamil.

My take on Ra.One
Synopsis
Shekhar Subrahmanyam (SRK) is a prolific game designer based in London. He designs and architects games for a company called "Barron" industries. He is intelligent but boring in nature and unimpressive in looks. His wife Sonia (Kareena Kapoor) is a Punjabi and the couple have a son called prateek (Armaan Varma) who is a computer freak and a game maniac.Prateek doesnt like his father as he thinks that his dad always designs games in which hero is always powerful than the villain. He wants his dad to design a game in which villain is more powerful than the hero and he wants villain to never die in that game.Being the lovable father he is Shekhar decides to architect a game which satisfies his sons prateek's wish.Shekhar designs the game and launches it but sooner he realizes that the villain character(Ra.One) designed by him can come to life with the radiations and signals that roam in the air. What happens to the hero character of the movie (G.One) and why are Sonia and prateek chased by Ra.One forms the rest of the story.
Analysis
Ra.One as a movie deals with a very interesting idea of how would be the life of gamers if the game characters come live on this earth.I thought Anubhav Sinha was unable to showcase this idea on the big screen as a full fledged story. The screenplay was very weak in the first half an hour of the movie where the main idea of the game is explained.Adding humourous elements to Shekhar's character and his Tamil Dialect did not help the intial take off of the movie. The movie really picks up once the Ra.One character arrives and the pre interval half an hour is a total relief to the first half.Just as the viewer gets excited at the interval block, the story again falls on a slow mode, the second half looks flat, uninteresting and some unnecessary long episodes like the train chase makes it loose interest of the viewer. The movie has a instant inspiration from the main plot of "Enthiran" and it shows clearly with the way SRK enacts the robotic scenes in the second half.Nice to see a star like Rajini Kanth acting just once scene. The movie again pulls back some interest towards the climax with some great CG work towards the end.
Actors
Shahrukh Khan plays two characters in the movie, one of Shekhar Subrahmanyam and the other is of a game hero "Ra.One".I thought the appearance of SRK in Shekhar's role was under-shadowed to elevate G.One's appearance.Shekhar is a Tamil guy from origin but I thought SRK did not fit the role properly.SRK tried do generate humor with shekhars character and it failed miserably but where as SRK excels to greater levels in G.One role and his "Roboish" costume design looks impressive.SRK does well in his performance as Robot with some excellent performance in action scenes involving all the scenes where he confronts with Ra.One. Debutant kid Armaan does wonders in this movie and he looks at ease playing the role of prateek. He is definitely someone to look forward in many more Hindi movies to come.Kareena does not require much efforts to play roles like these and she does well.Arjun Rampal is terrific and he brings in the required negative shades to Ra.One character. There are other roles played by Shahana Goswami,Tom Wu,Dilip Tahil and Satish shah and they are just Ok.
Technical Aspects
Ra.One would be definitely remembered for a long time for its visual effects and computer graphics work.Roberts kurtzman who is known for creating wonderful VFX has done a very good job for this film. The CGI work is seamlessly integrated into the movie and it works big time.Though the movie looks flat at times the editing is done well by Sanjay Sharma and Martin walsh. The music was good on screen with two of the most popular songs "Dildaara" and "Chammak challo" coming in the second half of the movie and they sound good on screen too.I thought Vishal-Shekhar should have done better in the re recording of the movie. The BGM for G.One lacks lacks the required soul. The screenplay and direction are just ok by Anubhav sinha.
On the whole Ra.One as a story when designed had that killer instinct to it but the fully blown version is less appealing and falls flat.I thought movie like this made in a duration of 90-120 mins would do wonders.Ra.one is for sure an SRK fandelight and he is marvelous in the role of G.One.The kids under 10 will also have good time in watching the movie.I would definitely recommend the movie for watching SRK and CG aspects of it.

Pilla Jamindar Review
The movie starts off with showcasing Praveen Jairam aka Pilla Jamindar(Nani) as a spoilt youngster who has a carefree attitude towards life. His grandfather who was once a Jamindar leaves a lot of wealth for him but PJ has to meet with some conditions in order to enjoy the wealth.PJ then starts a journey to a village where he has to complete an under graduate degree leaving behind all the comforts. He is also asked to live in a hostel which is owned by Rajanna (Rao Ramesh) by following the strict rules of the hostel. The rest of the story is all about how PJ turns into a responsible graduate realizing the importance of education and value for money and life.
Nani is a delight to watch in this film.He has grown as an actor from ashta chamma and that shows up very evidently on the screen. He plays a character who has to show the transformation from an irresponsible careless guy to a matured graduate and he showcased that effortlessly.Nani has the boy next door looks and he brings likability to all the characters he plays on screen. He looks good with a toned body in the movie and his dances are energetic too.The female lead Hari priya is good and Bindu Madhavi doesnt have much role to perform. All the guys who played as PJ's friends in the movie have done a good job and a special mention to Dhanraj for his performance. Its good to see Srini Avasarala in a very good character and he does well too.All the other characters are ok.
Most of the movie goes on a humorous note and dialogues by Shekhar chandra are good. The movie was shot on some good locations of local villages and they are captured well by Sai Sriram.Music is not well conceived on screen with exception of "oopiri Aadadu" song which is shot well. The production values of the movie are not that impressive and the movie doesn't looks rich on screen.Screenplay and direction by debutant Ashok G is done well in parts.
The movie starts of on a dull note but picks up once the movie shifts to the village. The first half is filled with ample comedy though the story is routine and predictable. The second half forms the main crux of the story and it looks slow and dragged.I thought the transformation of PJ becoming more responsible was told in a way that was believable and neat.Nani carries the entire movie on his shoulders and he did a good job.The plus points of the movie are Nani, comedy elements in the first half and on the downside a time testing story with dragging second half makes the movie less appealing. On the whole Pilla Jamindar is a decent movie and its a must watch if you like Nani.

Its been a while that I came to my blog and there is always a special reason why I come back to here and this time is special too.I have been waiting for this audio of this Telugu movie "Shakthi".There are mainly two reasons for this, one being it is coming from one of my personal favorite music director "Mani Sharma" who's known for this haunting music and other being yet another musical combination of "C.Ashwani Dutt" and Mani Sharma who gave us many musically hit movies like "Choodalani Undi","Ravoi Chandama","Indra" and "Balu".This movie is made on a grand production values with a whooping production cost of 54 crores and with leading stars like NTR,matching good music on top of that should take the movie to a much needed larger scale.Lets see how the audio fared.
1. Thaliya - * * *
Lyrics : Rama Jogayya sastry
Singer: Ranjith
This song starts with a very unique sarangi rythm followed by a rajasthani interlude which makes us feel that we are about to hear a different hero introduction song till it falls into a regular song. This song talks about the hero's character and there is a continuous mix of Hindi/Rajasthani and Telugu lyrics.Though the orchestration is quite routine from Mani Sharma Ranjith as usual carries the song on his shoulders with great ease.Though Mani can compose good non telugu music,I somehow feel his Hindi compositions has that south touch which makes them tough to hear.We can hear some lines in the same way in this song too. There are also some words like "Singam" which means nothing in telugu.Barring all these things,it is an interesting song to hear once.
2.Prema Desham - * * * *
Lyrics :Rama Jogayya sastry
Singers : Hema Chandra,Saindhavi
We must be wondering why people call Mani sharma "Swara Bramha" (Bramha of Tunes).Hearing songs like these might make us believe in that more and more. This song is absolute delight to the listener.Mani tries something different in the background music of the song and it has that 70's touch of music in it and the lyrics are neat and they carry that mood throughout. It has become common for us to see Hemachandra singing atleast two songs in Mani's albums and he always brings the required feel to the song.Saindhavi on the other hand is a tamilian and its very tough for her to get those Telugu words right and she sounds Pleasent and as always. The guitar piece that comes before the second stanza stands out special in the song.On a whole a very different, well written song that really grows on us as we hear.
3.Mathileka Pichiga - * *
Lyrics : Jonnavithula
Singers : Ranjith,Chinmayee,Chorus
I really got excited when I saw credits for this song as it had one of personal favorite female singers "Chinmayee" singing for Mani Sharma but it dis not held through. The song starts on a tehchno tune and it follows the break-up vocal style of recording to add that extra spice. There is a good music piece of guitar before the start of first stanza in cowboy style and it sounds great. The lyrics in the stanzas are written well but the interludes in between each stanza look so disconnected that it really act as the stopping blocks to hear the song. The Spanish lyrics also doesn't gel well with the song. The only good thing being the singers,Chinmayee and Ranjith carry the song so well despite very mediocre lyrics that we end up humming the song after few listens..

4.Maha Rudra Shakti - * * *
Lyrics - Jonnavithula
Singers - Ranjith, Muralidhar, Rita, Vardhini, Saindhavi, Hanumantha Rao, Hemachandra, Malavika
Commercial Music is something that is very much needed to score music for larger than life movies like "Shakthi" and Mani Sharma is a master of that art. This song is a clear cut example of this. The way it is composed and formed with so many singers and with such fine lyrics is outstanding. The song talks about the strength of "Rudra" who is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and he is also supposed to be the head of the universe. The lyrics are divine and Mani succeeds in bringing that divine feel in vocals too with clubbing so many singers together and we hear only one single voice but not so many singers.Since this song is more like a background number, one cannot hear it many number of times which makes it little boring. An average song which can sound much better on the big screen.
5.Surro Surro - * * *
Lyrics -Jonnavithula
Singers - Javed Ali,Suchitra and Hemachandra
This is the only song in the whole album which cought my ears when I heard the album for the first time. Its a different composition with even lyrics being written in srikakulam dialect. And out and out mass number and Suchitra who is known for this kind of songs fits perfect with her unique voice. There is a major portion of the song sung by the chorus and they do well with those fuzzy lyrics.Javed Ali on the other hand is a trained Hindustani singer and he is the student of famous ghazal singer Ghulam Ali.,coming from that background its very tough for him to spell those Telugu words but he does a great job in bringing the required accent. The orchestration is simple and lyrics suit to the mood of the song.Mani again uses Sarangi to a great extent with even Veena used in between the interludes.I noticed that Hemachandra's voice was mixed well in the song to spell some words in between and it sounds little awkward. On a whole a very catchy mass number with ample scope for us to watch NTR's dances.
6.Yamaga Unde - * * *
Lyrics - Rama Jogayya sastry
Singers - Karunya,Malavika
The first impression I got when I heard this song was "I heard this song somewhere".Then I remembered that the song resembles a lot for the "Choodaduantunna" from "Pokiri".But it was nice to hear to Karunya in this song. Thanks for Mani Sharma and for his chances,Karunya is turning out to be a good commercial "Playback" singer.Though the tune is pretty old and off beat,Karunya sings it with ease and he brings the right attitude when he sings the lines"Nachave Maayabazaaru Kaasko naa dumdumaaru" (absolutely no meaing but sounds great).I guess thats the advatange of getting the song sung by a person who knows telugu.Again Chorus plays a major role in the song and they are OK.Its a cakewalk for Malavika to sing songs like these and she sounds effortless.Lyrics again by Rama jogayya sastri doesnt carry any value and they are OK.A decent listen.
7- Mahishasura Mardhini - * * * *
Lyrics - Sri Adi Shankaracharya
Singers - Srivardhini ,Sharath (Alaap)
There has been various occasions we heard devotional songs on the music of Mani Sharma.Be it his passion to make good music or the way he arranges them, they sound fresh and likeable each time.We heard several examples like "Ooregi Ravayya" in Sri Anjeneyam,"Nammina Na Madi" from "Sri Raghavendra" and the very recent "Sada Siva" from Khaleja.Mahishasura Mardini Stotram is a very popular devotional song of Goddess Durga written by Guru Adi Sankaracharya (Sri Sri Sri Shankara Bhagavatpadacharya). This devotional verse is addressed to Goddess Mahisasura Mardini, the Goddess who killed Demon Mahishasura. There were so many versions of this song, popular ones being the MS Subhalakshmi and the bombay sister's,but this is no exception. Beautifully composed and effortlessly sung by "Srivardhini" who is a trained Tamil classical singer.Mani adds his signature touch of guitar in the interlude which brings the necessary contemporary touch. What steals the entire song is the last one minute where Mani brings various violins (bass, rhythm and melody) into a luring musical piece which is amazing. On a whole an impressive finish to a very average album.
Shakthi's music on a whole a very mediocre but having said that it is very commercial. It has some great foot tapping numbers which Iam sure NTR would utilize to his strength which is dance. The songs are composed and arranged in a such a way that there are so many musical bits in guitar, violen, veena which will be used to showcase some great dance steps from NTR.Iam for sure that these songs will look great on the big screen and they will get more popular once the movie releases. My picks are "Prema Desham","Mahishasura Mardhini","Surro Surro" and finally "Mathileka pichiga".Though Iam not completely satisfied with Mani Sharma,Iam sure he will come back strong in his next "Teen Maar".I will come back again with "Teen Maar" audio review of "Teen Maar".
Adios !!

Deva - Gods own Saviour !!
They say when you pray with true devotion and heart, god listens to your prayers,is it true? Do God listen to prayers from the bad forces on earth too? Can he give boons to the people who want the bad to win over the good? That forms the crux of my story and this very point has driven me to come up with the entire episodes of this saga which i named as "Deva - Gods Own Saviour !"
The story begins in the 17th century when kings were ruling the people.Deep in the forests of "Indrakailadri",Deva a loyal resident of Kingdom "Garthapura" ruled by the king "samaraveera" is being hand cuffed and chained by king pashupathi.Deva is completely tortured and is being tied to the logs and dragged on the knees.Soldiers of pashupathi take him to the king.Deva is accused for hiding the sivalingam.Deva is further tortured and is threatened to death if he doesnt tell the King on where did he hide the "siva lingam".king pashupathi gives Deva one more day for him tell the truth and prisons him in his kingdom. On the very night, deva escapes from the kingdom of Pashupathi and tries to reach his own kingdom.King pashupathi knows about this and attacks deva on his way. After a lot of struggle Deva leaves his life and dies on the banks of River krishna.Saints of garthapura knowing this will crement the body of Deva and will give him the power of immortal soul. They will pray to Lord Shiva that when ever a bad force tries to take an advantage of God,Deva will be reborn and protect the people from that to happen!!!
Now In the modern era where kingdoms have become districts and kings have become politicians,One such politician is "Prajapathi Naidu".Naidu hails as a member of parliament from the city of vijayawada and his dream is to become the chief minister for the state of andhra pradesh. He tries many ways to get into this position and he is on the plans to see how can achieve his goal.
Karthik,is a normal guy who lives in the same city.Karthik has his own life.He is a well educated and well trained musician. He works at a local karate club to teach the students on the forms of martial arts.Karthik has a beautiful family where his parents work as teachers in a local school and his sister studies in the college.Karthik doesnt care on whats happening around him,all he bothers is about his family. One day when karthik goes to pick up his sister from college,he watches a guy getting killed on the road by a group of men.Karthik being the usual self, doesn't bother about what is happening but when he watches that the men who killed the guy are going inside the same college where his sister is studying,he gets curious.Karthik tries to gather all the information about the guys and finds out that they work for a local politician named "Prajapathi Naidu".
Karthik tries to forget these incidents which happened at this sisters college, but he is afraid with the fact that his sister would be effected with all these incidents.Karthik decides that he would collect all the required proofs on what exactly is happening with the college students and how they are helping the political leader. On finding out, karthik would know that the guy who was killed is none other than a son of famous archeologist in the city "Prof Anant Kumar".Karthik will not be able to get hold of the professor as he would be missing in his house.Karthik now tries to find out the where abouts of the professor and he would come to know that the professor was last seen going in a car with a bunch of guys wearing white dress.Karthik decides to find out the missing professor.
When karthik chases down the address of the car in which the professor was taken,he will come to know that the car is being owned by the famous politician in the city "Prajapathi Naidu".Karthik tries to find out the professor in the house of the politician and he finds out that the the professor has been locked inside the basement. When he hears the conversation between the professor and prajapathi naidu,he finds out that professor is being asked about the location of a siva lingam located in the forests of "indrakailadri".
karthik being curious about the siva lingam, gathers information from the local temple priests on the importance of the siva lingam.Karthik will know that the siva lingam was once known as the famous "sarpa lingam" in the 17th century.Priests will tell him that the siva lingam was once destroyed by a king named "Samaraveera".karthik also knows that the priest who works for "prajapathi naidu" dies on the same day when the professor was kidnapped. On finding out,he will come to know that the priest was killed by "prajapathi naidu".The priest son would tell him that his father was working for prajapathi naidu and he gave an adivice to prajapathi naidu to find and worship the siva lingam which was once called as "Koti Sarpa Lingam" to attain his desire to become the chief minister of the state.
Karthik find out evidences on prajapathi naidu from various sources he meets from the past few days.He tries to defend and escape to hyderabad to submit his proofs to the chief minister of the state against prajapathi naidu.Naidu's men will come to know about this and they attack Karthik. They throw his body into the river where he strikes with the underwater stone to remember his past !!!
Back to the 17th century,In the kingdom of "Garthapuri" which was situated near the banks of river "Krishna" in the souther part of india there lived a king called "Samaraveera".The king was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna and the people in his kingdom used to pray, perform and celebrate the Righteous traits of the lord. The King,Kingdom and its people were living happily with so much prosperity and wealth with the blessings of the Lord Krishna. The distict of Garthapuri became so famous for its prosperity that the kings and their kingdoms near by started to feel jelous about it.Till the time came, when a king named "Pashupathi" who is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva eyed on the Garthapuri district.
Pashupathi was so attracted to the district's wealth that he started to look at all the means to conquer it.He tried so many ways to defeat the king but he was in vain.Pashupathi then finally met his asthana rushi "Sri Maha Nanda Swami" to get an advice to conquer King Samaraveera's kingdom. The maha rushi suggested pashupathi that in the hills of himalayas there exists a "Koti Sarpa Lingam" which is made up invincible pearl. He also suggested him that the shiva lingam is so powerful that anybody who prays to the lingam for 11 consecutive days without food and water will get "aakalasakthi" with which he can achieve what ever he wants.Pashupathi being the greedy king as he was asked his kingdom men to be in search for the Koti sarpa lingam.Little he knew that he was about to conquer what he has never imagined.
In the kingdom of "Garthapuri",King samaraveera came to know from his spy's that that King Pashupathi is seeking devine help to conquer his kingdom. He pleaded to his kingdom loyal saints to suggest him the remedy of this problem. The saints prayed to Lord Krishna and went through the "Garthapuri Kala patra" which told them that there is somebody born to save their kingdom and he name is "DEVA".
Deva is born in a middle class family in the kingdom of Garthapura and his parents live in forest to make their livelihood. While growing up deva happens to help a saint who gets injured while travelling in the forest.Feeling so pleased with what deva does, the saint accepts Deva as his student and considers him the gods own child. The saint gives a special power to Deva that when ever a bad force tries to take the help of God for attaining success,Deva would turn into a force which would stop them from attaining immortality.Being an ardent student of the saint Deva learns all the forms of arts and becomes a vedic scholar. In the course,Deva's guru passes away.
The saints of "King samaraveera" will come in search of Deva and asks him for help.Deva remembering his guru's blessings, obliges and starts his journey to stop "king Pashupathi" from getting to the "Koti Sarpa Lingam".With his skill and cleverness,Deva finally reaches to the himalayas before the King Pashupathi gets hold of the koti Sarpa Lingam. He takes hold of the Lingam and hides the lingam in the midst of big hills and mountains where nobody can ever get into. When pashupathi knows about this,he takes control of Deva and prisons him to know the location of where did Deva hide the sarpa lingam. After many trails,Deva never comes out with anything on the sarpalingam. In this process, king pashupathi tortures deva but all his efforts will be wasted as deva nevers open up with any information. One fine day,Deva escapes from King pashupathi and when he is on his way to the kingdom of garthapura, pashupathi attacks on him and in the process Deva gets injured.Deva would eventually be killed on the banks of River Krishna.Saints of garthapura knowing this will crement the body of Deva and will give him the power of immortal soul. They will pray to Lord Shiva that when ever a bad force tries to take an advantage of God,Deva will be reborn and protect the people from that to happen!!!
Karthik comes to life again, remembering the fact that he was once known as Deva and he was the gods own saviour. Now karthik responsibility lies in saving the "Koti Sarpa lingam" from prajapathi naidu.Karthik knows that prjapathi naidu would eventually come to the location where he had initially hidden the siva lingam.karthik travels inside the forest to reach to the place where he hides the siva lingam.Prajapathi naidu finds him and come in search of sivalingam.Karthik fights with prajapathi naidu, kills him and his assistants to win and save the siva lingam once again.karthik realizes that the place where he has hidden siva lingam was once mountains but now turned into a bare land allowing people to find out the geographical location of the siva lingam. He decides to locate a new place to hide the siva lingam. This time karthik uses all various skills to hide the siva lingam in the forest with protection from all the four elements of earth. He uses batuva caves (land) as the place to hide the siva lingam. He uses krishna river (water) as the barrier to pass to reach to the caves. He uses fire as the catalyst to eradicate the signs of the caves. He uses the air to implant arrow weapons for whoever coming near the siva lingam. He hides the Siva Lingam Once again !!!
Karthik lives with the fact that he has to protect the siva lingam from bad guys to make use of it till he dies and he knows he will be born again when ever there is a harm for the people !!

The Unknown - Working Title
Last week, one night i had a rough sleep and in the process i had some scary dreams.I had various dreams and i normally tend to remember my dream very well when i get up.In the same process i was able to construct one scary story from one of those scary dreams.I thought if developed well,it could be a very interesting Hollywood movie. Here how it goes !!!
We all know that environment disasters are so dangerous and out of a big list them,Meteorite or meteorites are very dangerous when they come in contact with the earth. In short a meteorite is originating in outer space that survives impact with the Earth's surface and it can cause major disasters. One such disaster happened when few years back a meteorite named "Liquihoba" dropped on the land of "High Line park" in the city of New York. The specialty of this meteorite is that it is a combination of liquid minerals with a life imposing ingredient called "Liquid pro-V".There was a big damage caused by this fall and the pit that was created by the meteorite was so huge that the the liquid "Pro-V" penetrated deep into the soils of "High Line park".People believe that under the fourth layer of soil there exist a species of insects called "black crop insects" which solely live on the vegetation that is under the soil. The life imposing liquid "Pro-V" went so deep into the soil that the "black crop" insects started to feed on the minerals that flowed through the meteorite.
The liquid had a special trait that it makes the tiniest creatures to a larger than life creatures with special powers. The same happened and with a short time the "Block crop" insects became huge with alien powers and they started to emerge from the soil as giant insects.
By seeing the larger than life insects,United States of America anti UFO organisation started to explore the origin of these creatures and they found out that the liquid that got penetrated into the soil through meteorite was the reason for these giant creatures and they also found an interesting fact.Guess what ? They found that the same meteorite got broken into 521 pieces when it was travelling to earth and each piece fell into various places in the world. They also understood that the same liquid is going to give birth to various other creatures which could harm the existence of the human on earth.
Did the liquid give birth to other giant creatures in the world ? Were all the creatures harmful to the mankind and Was the liquid "Pro-V" taken from the meteorite used to help destroy the same creatures? How did this all end ? This forms the crux of this story.
Interesting haa? I was shocked to know that i have dreamt about all this when i got up from my sleep. Its unfortunate that i couldn't sleep for longer to see the end of this story. When i did post analysis of this dream,i came to know that this is called dream interpretation !!! I am sure this dram is not going to leave and Iam sure to be incepted with this story in my future dreams and Iam somewhere confident that i can complete this story !!!
Coming soon with the second half !!!

Orange Audio Review
Orange (2010)
CAST: Ramcharan Tej, Genelia, Shazahn Padamsee
Director : Bhaskar
Producer : Nagendra Babu
Music Director : Harris Jayaraj
Its been months that i waited for a musical album to release this badly and the time has come.Yes ! Orange - Third movie of Mega power star "Ram Charan Tej" is finally out ! This movie comes with a crazy combination - One it comes from RCT who is freshly out from the success of stupendous hit Maghadheera, second there is director Bhaskar (baaski) who delivered superb yet meaningful entertainers like bommarillu and parugu, third its from the "MEGA" production house anjana productions who gave us hits like rudraveena, trinetrudu and baavagaru bagunnara and last but not the least the music for this movie is scored by none other than Harris jayaraj who is famously knows for his haunting melodies. With this kind of combination, obviously listeners will have a tremendous expectations and lets see how the audio fared ?
1.Ola Olaala Ala - ☆☆☆
Artist(s): Karunya, Ranina Reddy
Lyricist: Surendra Krishna, Kedarnath Parimi
Harris Jayaraj is known for starting songs with catching interludes or chorus bits thats stay with you and there you go,the first song of the album starts with a male interlude. This song is a sweet melody that expresses the boys feeling when he falls in love. You will get surprised when you hear to karunya's voice in this song.He sounds different, trendy and modern. He suits to the mood of the song and the chorus adds the necessary peppiness to it.Though the beat is foot tapping, its only good at parts. The new lyricists Surendra krishna and kedarnath are not upto mark and its just normal.Lines like
"Theluskunnadi konchame,aa koncham lone entho nachchave" are good.
The female chorus at times interrupts the flow and it doesnt go well with the song. The best parts of the song are its melody and the way karunya renders it,Listen it to the feel it carries in the last one minute !!
2.Chilipiga - ☆☆☆☆☆
Artist(s): Karthik
Lyricist: Vanamali
Just as you get little disappointed with the opening number of the album, here comes a great melody again. If you can ever wonder how is it possible to make a song with just a guitar, simple orchestration and one great voice, this is the song !! This song again talks about feelings of a guy who is in love,Though the theme may be same, the way harris presents this song is worth an applaud. The tune of the song is so simple that you would instandly fall in love with this number.Lyrics by vanamali are not so exceptional but karthik once again proves that he is at utmost ease in singing these melodies. The musical saxphone piece is outstanding in the song.I really loved the way harris mixed karthik's voice with the female chorus at the very end of the song and as you feel that you really love the number,it comes to an end and trust me you want to hear it again !!!
3.Nenu Nuvvantu - ☆☆☆☆
Artist(s): Naresh Iyer, Nadeesh
Lyricist: Vanamali
As you trying to come out from the mood of chilipiga choostho song, you are presented with yet another great number by the maestro. This time its a breezy melody which talks about a guy explaining to a girl that he is a good lover to her.Sometimes it strikes me real hard the way harris comes up with endless melodies with a very simple orchestration,I think thats when you call a person gifted in music ! I felt naresh iyer was the best choice for this song and he sang this song to utmost perfection with minor pronunciation glitches (exemted for the great singer he is).As always harris trusts on his guitar players, his traditional rythm and a impressive chorus makes this song a pleasent hear.I really liked the way the following lines were written and composed in the song
"Oka sari choosi nenu valachaana, nannu veedipodu ye maguvu ayyina premisthaane entho gaadanga"
"Naa prema lothu lo munigaaka, nuvvu paiki thelave sulabhanga, praanalu ayyina istha yekanga"
""
Though harris again uses his nature of mixing the main voice with the chorus of the song,we dont get bored and it adds to the beuty of the song.My personal favourite of the album !!
4.Hello Rammante - ☆☆☆☆
Artist(s): Vijay Prakash, Devan
Lyricist: Rama Jhogaya Sastry
When chilipiga and nenu nuvvuantu takes you through soft melodies, hello rammantu is a fast pacy number which talks about a guy who is immersed in love with a girl.Vijay prakash who sang the very famous "Hosana" from YMC rendered this song and i thought he was the perfect fit for the mood of the song.Though the song has a good tune, the lyrics and the instrumentation is cluttered at parts.Vijay who is originally of a Kannada decent should have had better pronunciation of telugu than the regular Tamil singers but simple mistakes like "chali" instead of "cheli" and "nonnu" instead of "nannu" would have been corrected.Music is simple throughout the song with just a single drum rythm on the background and guitar riffs here and there throughout. The song starts on a good note but goes on a very high tune in the middle and ends suddenly. This song may impress you only because of the strong vocals from vijay prakash.
5.O Range -☆☆☆
Artist(s): Benny Dayal
Lyricist: Vanamali
When it comes to telugu commercial movies, producers tend to add mass numbers to a simple melodious album. This song comes in this genre and it adds the necessary beats to attract the mass audience to this album.Sung by Benny dayal who comes from the AR Rehman school of singers and who is famous for singing some of the good numbers for meastro does a decent job in this song. The music is simple in this song and the lyrics are very normal, espicially the hindi lyrics are not at all up to mark. The song starts on a very normal mode and it gets good as it progresses, thanks to the arabic feel benny gives to his songs.I like the way the following lines were composed in the song
"Ne veyyi sarlu premistha,ne gunde lone prema undi"
"Ne Kotta cherithe ne raastha, naa love lo life undi"
as it sounds different and unique to your ears.I would have loved this song if there were better lyrics and of course a more organized orchestration throughout. On a whole a decent number.
6.Rooba Rooba -☆☆☆☆
Artist(s): Shail Hada, Chinmayee
Lyricist: Vanamali
If you think you are getting bored with the last two songs in the album,Harris comes up with yet another composition that grows on you as you hear it.The way this song starts,it remembers us of many of those pritam numbers in hindi and we also heard a similar song "Kannire olikanu le" from the movie thakita thakita which starts with the same guitar melody.I think harris would have made so many numbers with the same melody but he sounds unique each time and he scores again with this number.Sung by shail hada who is famously known for the title song of "Saawariya" has done a good job in the song.Lyrics are not upto mark again and i really dont like the way lyricists these days are mixing the hindi lyrics on telugu songs and the same happens for this song too.The orchestration is good in parts, mainly the way the guitar melody was introduced with the chorus in the middle of the song.Shail hada is sincere in his rendition and this song grows with the listener and its a good hear.
On the whole, coming with great expectations -ORANGE audio is mixed bag of everything. It has good melodies which can grow on you when you keep listening to them but at the same time it has some numbers which can easily draw back your patience and make you to not listen to the audio.Till date i felt its not the best works of harris jayaraj and Iam sure ORANGE audio would have been much much better if harris would have been a telugu speaker and if he would have used telugu singers.Lyrics are always a problem in telugu albums and the same repeats in this album with some songs being an exception. My picks in the album are "Chilipiga","Nenu Nuvvu antu" and "Hello Rammantu".On a last note,ORANGE is a CD to keep and listen in future for sure.Enjoy Music
